Guidance in the Pursuit of Discovery.

If the student experience at The University of Texas at Austin is viewed as a journey, then the Libraries are the trailhead for each Longhorn’s trek to change the world.

There are no great universities without great libraries. And no great library has ever been built without you—the investment of people that recognize its advancement to society. The universe of information we make available creates the foundation from which new knowledge emerges on the Forty Acres and in the world.

Set the trajectory of success for every Longhorn by ensuring their need for resources are met no matter how high their personal or academic goals. Your gift reaches far afield too. Our projects in Africa, South America, Asia, and the Middle East keeps the Forty Acres active in the global community. We would be tremendously honored to have you as part of our community.

Library Priorities

The Tomorrow Fund (Endowment)

The library of tomorrow will radically transform the storing, finding, and retrieving of information while preserving the best facets of traditional library discovery methods like the spontaneous exploration of physical books. Investing in the Tomorrow Fund also means that together we will advocate for free access to information regardless of age, education, ethnicity, language, income, physical limitations, or geographic barriers.

Collecting and Preserving Knowledge

Support Collecting and Preserving Knowledge (Endowment)

New knowledge emerges only if we continue to expand our universe of information. Currently, we have 10.8 million volumes, 7.1 million database searches a year, and can circulate up to 204,000 materials at any given time. Spurring discovery means continuing to build our collections, keeping journals available, and removing paywalls to information

technology and innovation fund

Technology and Innovation Fund (Endowment)

We need to ensure Longhorns have access to the latest technology and advancements in research. Growing this fund means that we can continue to supply equipment like that in our makerspace, The Foundry, and our spaces can emulate all of today’s rich enterprises and work environments.
